The Production:

This play will appeal to a wide audience as many of the themes running throughout this piece, are similar concerns & issues facing the post Celtic Tiger Ireland of today.

The Historical nature of this production will be both entertaining & beneficial for students, teachers & the general public. Our History & culture are intrinsically linked & this play will definitely give the theatre going public a new verve for Irish Culture.

The family orientated nature of this play ensures that this project has something for everyone, & shows an alternative side to events that surround the 1916 Rising in contrast to any productions of its kind.
The unique father-daughter relationship formed between James & Nora, forged in the heat of this socialist struggle, highlights the transition of a young girl into an independent woman, committed to reviving a nation. This element of the piece will uplift & inspire any women who see this play, it demonstrates Connolly’s instinctive feminism & it is this presence of strong & interesting female characters within the piece that will draw in the female audience.

Connolly’s time spent with Workers of all Nationalities both in the U.S.A & Ireland creates its own appeal for a contemporary theatre audience.

Hopefully this play will entertain, educate, uplift & inspire anyone that comes to see it.
